Film Review – The Witches (2020)

films, reviews

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

A lot of stuff happened in 2020. A lot. Something that definitely didn’t happen was me watching films. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Nobody was in a great place that year and one of the consequences for me was losing a desire to sit and watch a movie. Yet I could binge-watch several episodes of TV in a row. It doesn’t make sense. It’s never made sense but it’s how it was. Whatever the reason, I have a whole year’s worth of films to catch up on. I guess you could ask if I wasn’t bothered then, why would I be bothered now? I don’t know. What I do know is that I needed a film to review this week and I saw this on Prime.

Book Review – Taste by Stanley Tucci

books, reviews

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I wasn’t expecting to read this book last week but I ended up needing a pick-me-up at work. It was when I was feeling shit and I was desperate for something to distract me. Otherwise, I would have sat in front of my computer feeling sorry for myself. So, I started listening to Stanley Tucci narrate his book Taste. I’d bought the hardback when it came out but I always like to experience this type of book in the writer’s own voice. Especially when that voice is a very talented and funny actor.

Bookish Post – October Pre-Orders

books

Normally, I have enough self-control to not pre-order books because there’s really no need. It’s not as if it will become impossible to read it, so it’s just a waste. I very rarely pick up a new release as soon as I buy it, which means it just sits on my shelf for ages. Well, I’ve a lot more time on my hands in 2021. This definitely explains why I’m suddenly all about the pre-orders. There are quite as many this month but there are some that I’m very excited. As I couldn’t face writing today’s review, I decided to go through the list.w
