May was a bit of a non-month really. Work has been super busy compared to last year for obvious reasons. Then I’ve had a load of personal commitments to fit in. All meaning that I’ve not had as much time for reading. This has been my worst month for a while but I’m choosing not to focus on that. Instead I’m celebrating the fact that I’ve finished some books I’ve had on my list for a while.

March started out pretty slowly because of my birthday. It’s always the way. Suddenly I have loads of social events to fit in and I end up not reading as much. But, thanks to a few quick audiobooks, I managed to get my number up. I also didn’t have a bad month in terms of ratings. Mostly pretty good and nothing as bad as February.

February has finally come to an end, thank god! It’s been the longest month for me and I’m glad to see the back of it. My main aim for reading this month was to focus on romance and love. I read more stories about love than I think I read in 2021. Not all of my reads were successful but, thankfully, there were plenty of highs to balance that out. Here’s how my month went.

The end of January really snuck up on me this year. Normally, it’s a long month but I feel like it’s flown by in 2022. Although, I felt the same last year, so maybe it’s not a good sign? We don’t want 2022 to go the same way as 2021. Unless we’re talking about how much I read. I’m not sure I’ll best my total books this year but I’ll give it a try. Thankfully, we got off to a pretty good start this month.

Bookish Post – Spell the Month in Book Titles: December

books

What a stressful way to end the year. As interesting as this reading challenge has been, I can’t say that I’m planning on doing anything like this again. The time between Christmas should be about eating and sleeping. Instead, I was panicking about finding books to read to cross off the letters I still needed. Still, I just about managed it and now I’m looking forward to reading whatever I want next year.

I feel like the end of this month has been super stressful. I didn’t do as much reading as I’d intended to between Christmas and New Year. In fact, I almost didn’t make my reading challenge. I was sure that I wouldn’t finish it and there’s a chance that I still might not. I have a few pages left on my current read. It’s taken much longer than I’d expected. Fingers crossed I can fit it in before midnight.

Bookish Post – Spell the Month in Book Titles: November

books

I knew that the last few months of the year would be tough in terms of the length of the names. I wasn’t expecting to struggle so much with some of the letters. For November, I know that V could be tricky but I thought E and R would be easy. Not for me, it turns out. What has happened to all of my E and R titled books? Despite this, I still managed to finish everything I needed this month. So, how did I do it?

Once again, I was worried that I wouldn’t finish all of the books that I needed to this month. November might have seemed like a long month but it also didn’t feel long enough. Thankfully, I finished my final book on the last day of the month. It feels like way more than 30 days since I read my first November read. It’s been a tough month. But what did I actually manage to read?

October ended up being a much better month than I expected. I finished everything with a bit of time to spare. I mostly did this by listening to multiple audiobooks when I was at work. I’ve always wondered how people read way over 10 books per month and I guess this is one of the ways. If you stick to shorter audiobooks, then you can get through so many in a week. It’s really something that I should do more often. But, what about this month? Here’s how my reading went over the past 31 days.
