Where the heck did June go? I can’t believe it. My friend gets married tomorrow and it’s snuck up so suddenly. It feels like only yesterday that we were madly trying to decide on a bridesmaid dress and now we’re a day away from the actual wedding. That’s also my excuse for not getting much reading done this month. I’ve had stuff to do. Still, I think I’ve done okay. I barely touched my Pride TBR but that’s hardly new.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

After my last read, I needed something to lift my spirits and get me back into reading. I started reading Bridget Jones’ Diary as my physical read but I wanted something for work. This is one of those books that I’ve been aware of for some time but never thought I’d get around to reading. Then I found out that I had access to it for free on Audible. So, as usual, I set about listening to it at work during my quieter moments. Would this be the antidote to my last reading experience or would it push me further into a reading slump?

So, another month is over and I feel like as I’m actually in a good place with my reading. Back up to 10 books but, admittedly, some of those barely had any words. Still, it was good to actually achieve my goals for this month. I read a number of Pride books including 2 that I was desperate to get around to. Hopefully it starts me off on a high before heading into July. Another short month in terms of letters but they’re tricky letters. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it though.

I always knew that I could never maintain my pace of reading 10 books each month but I didn’t expect things to turn around so abruptly. It took me ages to get into the books I was reading this month. Even the ones I was most excited about. I was worried about finishing my monthly reading challenge but, thankfully, I got there. Hopefully, April will be a bit less of a struggle.
