Sunday Rundown

What have you been reading this week?

February looks set to be another interesting month. It’s already messing with my head timewise. It’s only the 5th but it feels like it’s been this month forever. How is that possible? Reading-wise, it’s been a slow start. I’m hoping to gain momentum but my last read really didn’t inspire me to pick up something else. I’m hoping it will get better and I’m going to listen to another audiobook this week. I didn’t really get a chance to last week because of what I was working on.

Weekly Blog Posts

  • BOOK REVIEWThe Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

I’ve had a hardback copy of this for ages but have been too afraid to read it. I always like the idea of fantasy books more interesting than the books themselves. I’m starting to think that it’s just not really a genre for me. Still, I’d bought this so I had to give it a chance. Would it be the right book for me? Find out by reading my review.

  • BOOKISH POSTJanuary 2023 Reading Wrap-Up

The first month of the new year is over, so it was time for my first reading wrap-up of 2023. It hadn’t been the best start to the year which was a shame considering how strong January was in 2022. How much did I actually read in January this year? Read my post and you’ll see.

  • FILM REVIEW – Everything Everywhere All At Once

My friend and I had always planned to see this at the cinema but it came out too soon after post-Covid life began again. It just didn’t happen and I never got around to watching it. It kept popping up on Prime but I was never in the right mood. I decided it was finally time. Would it be everything everyone says it is? Find out by reading my review.

  • This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone

I had been meaning to read this for ages and was sure that I’d enjoy it. In the end, it wasn’t what I expected. I’m not sure how I feel but I don’t think I was wowed by it. I’ll need to think before I’m ready to write my review.

Currently Reading

  • Terry Pratchett: A Life With Footnotes by Rob Wilkins

I was lucky enough to get a free copy of this a while ago and it finally felt like a good time to start reading it. I love Terry Pratchett and I’m really looking forward to this one.

Book Haul

I’ve bought so many recently that I am making a big effort to not to buy more. It won’t last forever but it will hopefully last a little longer.

Recently Watched

  • TV:
    • The Last Of Us – I wasn’t ever going to attempt to watch this. I’d started playing the game years ago but got bored by the zombies. They’re just not my thing. So, no amount of Pedro Pascal or Bella Ramsey could convince me to watch. Then everyone started banging on about the latest episode and I had to see. I don’t think it will become a firm favourite but it’s fine for what it is.
