Sunday Rundown

What have you been reading this week?

So, Christmas went by in a lovely haze of food and family. I hope you all had equally good times whatever you were doing. I also hope that you were suitably spoilt by the people around you. Now that Christmas is officially done, we’re immediately down the business of wrapping up 2022 and setting goals for 2023. I’m madly trying to fit in a few more books before the year ends without making my short holiday extra stressful. I have to back to work for 1 day this week, which is ridiculous but possibly a good thing. It gets me out of the house and away from the food for a bit.

  • FILM REVIEW – I Believe in Santa

I had hoped that I would be able to find a decent Christmas film to review this month but then I saw this on Netflix. I couldn’t resist. It sounded so stupid. Do I wish I hadn’t watched it? Find out by reading my review.

  • BOOK REVIEW – She & Her Cat by Makoto Shinkai and Naruki Nagakawa

How could I resist this cute cover? And the plot sounded so charming. It sounded like it would be right up my street. Also, any book that namechecks Convenience Store Woman was surely going to be alright for me. Would this book live up to my expectations? Check out my review to find out.

  • Hercule Poirot’s Christmas by Agatha Christie

I wanted to read at least one festive book this year. The fact that it also featured one of Agatha’s grisliest murders was just a coincidence. There’s nothing like Christmas for a bit of murder and family intrigue, right?
