Sunday Rundown

What have you been reading this week?

How is it possible that we’re only a week away from Christmas? Thankfully, I’m all sorted for the big day and I managed to get my gifts sorted early, so I just need to wrap them now. In theory, it should give me more time to get on top of my 2022 TBR. In practice, I’m not that good at getting on top of my TBR. Especially if this week is anything to go by. I picked up a short read hoping that I’d have finished it in time for my review on Friday. I’m still reading it now. I’ve only got a few more days at work, so I’ve already started winding down. I’m also trying really hard not to get infected be everyone in my office. It would be just my luck to get really sick in the week before Christmas.

Weekly Blog Posts

  • FILM REVIEW – Your Christmas or Mine?

I haven’t watched many Christmas films so far this year. Hopefully I’ll be in the mood to watch more soon. Otherwise I’ll only have wasted my time watching the new offerings from the different streaming services. After last week’s Lindsay Lohan vehicle, I decided to watch this one from Prime. I wasn’t convinced it would set my world on fire but maybe it would be fun? Find out by reading my review.

  • BOOK REVIEW – Secret Rules to Being a Rockstar by Jessamyn Violet

This is one of those books that I was offered a free copy of and it just sounded so goo. Not only was this an LGBTQ+ story but it went behind the scenes of the music industry written by a musician. It sounded ideal. Although, it was a YA novel and I’m always a bit dubious. I just don’t always engage with books that focus on people who are about half my age. Would this one work for me? Check out my review to find out.

Just Read

  • Secret Rules to Being a Rockstar by Jessamyn Violet

It took me longer to finish this one than I expected. I suspect that it was because I wasn’t really into it but also just my general attitude recently. Overall, this was an enjoyable enough book but it won’t stay with me for too long.

Currently Reading

  • She and Her Cat by Makoto Shinkai and Naruki Nagakawa

I picked this up because I thought it would be a short and sweet read. I’m enjoying it but I’ve not been great at getting through it. This kind of book is my kind of thing. It’s a cute story about a cat and quirky young women. Love it.

Book Haul

I’m pretty sure that the only book that I’ve bought this week was a present for someone. So, I don’t think that really counts.

    • The Office -This weekend I got to the part where Michael Scott leaves and I honestly cried. I’ve seen it before and I’m not exactly drawn to the character. This should give you an insight into how I’m feeling right now.

  1. I think you forgot to finish your sentence/paragraph at the beginning.

Mrs B and I were realizing last night that Christmas is NEXT sunday. I was still thinking I had like 2 weeks. Aye yi yi. Thankfully, all the presents are mailed or delivered, but it’s still quite a shock to realize how fast it’s all moving. Where’s the “slow down” button? I’d like to push it a couple of times, please…..

    1. Thanks for letting me know. I guess I just ran out steam with that one and never went back.

Yeah, December has just flown by. I’m glad that you’re all sorted and not panicking. I can’t believe that it’ll be 2023 in a few weeks. I am not at all ready for it to happen.
