Sunday Rundown

What have you been reading this week?

How have we nearly reached the end of November? Not only does Christmas feel very close but I don’t feel like I’ve read enough yet. I think I’m on about 6 books, which isn’t that bad. It’s just disappointing in comparison to previous months. It doesn’t help that I’ve been so busy at work that listening to audiobooks has become difficult. I don’t think December will be much better, so it will probably be a slow end to 2022.

Weekly Blog Posts

  • BOOK REVIEW – The Disappearance of Adèle Bedeau by Graeme Macrae Burnet

I have enjoyed both of the books that I’ve read by Graeme Macrae Burnet so far. I think he’s such a fantastic writer with such a unique style. So, I decided to try out the other books he’s written. Starting with his debut. This is a crime novel that focuses on the disappearance of a young waitress. Would it be as good as my previous reads? Check out my review to find out.

  • FILM REVIEW – Disenchanted

I know a lot of people love Enchanted but it sort of passed me by. So, I wasn’t exactly waiting for the sequel with bated breath. Of course, I knew that I was going to watch it because I knew Maya Rudolph was playing someone evil. Would it have a greater effect on me than the first film? Find out by reading my review.

  • BOOK REVIEW – Nightmares & Daydreams by Dominic J. Anton

I’m always more than happy to read a book more than once but it’s not often that I do it in the same year. That’s exactly what happened with this book. I got a chance to read it before it was published and then received a copy once it had been. I enjoyed it the first time and was looking forward to reading it again. Would it be as good as the second time? Check out my review to find out.

  • Nightmares & Daydreams by Dominic J. Anton

I finished this earlier in the week and I really enjoyed it. It was also good to finally finish a book again. It seems like a long time since I did that.

  • Celestial Navigation by Anne Tyler

One more for my Anne Tyler readthrough and one that I didn’t really know much about. I borrowed it from the library and listened to it at work. My review will be coming on Monday.

  • Secret Rules to Being a Rockstar by Jessamyn Violet

I was recently sent a copy of this book and I decided to pick it up after my previous read. It’s an LGBTQA+ YA novel set in the music industry. I’m looking forward to reading it and seeing how it turns out.

Book Haul

I still haven’t bought anything new but it’s the weekend of Black Friday deals and it’s double points at Waterstones. So, I know I’m going to cave soon and buy some books that have been in my basket for a while. Check back next week to find out which.
