Sunday Rundown

What have you been reading this week?

Turns out that I did jinx myself last week. Having been on top for of my TBR for a while, my ability to concentrate has just been destroyed this week. I’ve not been sleeping very well and have been feeling so worn out. It doesn’t help that work is super stressful but we’re too busy for me to have time off. I do have a couple of days coming up next weekend but that’s probably it until Christmas. Hopefully, I can make it through without succumbing to the stress. Otherwise, I won’t be able to finish much before the end of the year.

Weekly Blog Posts

  • BOOK REVIEW – The Book No One Wanted to Read by Richard Ayoade

There’s no point in pretending that I didn’t go into this book being absolutely convinced that I’d love it. I just love Richard Ayoade and think his books have all been brilliant. In fact, they’ve only been getting better. His last book, Ayoade on Top remains one of the funniest books I’ve read in recent years. How would Ayoade’s humour work for a younger audience? Check out my review to find out.

  • FILM REVIEW – See How They Run

I’ve been meaning to watch this film for ages because it looked like my kind of thing. I love a good old-fashioned murder mystery and the cast looked fantastic. The trailer made it seem like a Wes Anderson film mixed with Knives Out, so I was ready for this to be a lot of fun. Was it? Find out by reading my review.

  • BOOK REVIEW – Clock Dance by Anne Tyler

The second of two recent reads by Anne Tyler books that I borrowed from the library. I’m pretty convinced that I’ll love anything Anne Tyler writes but this one sounded perfect. A 61-year-old woman decides to care for her son’s ex-girlfriend? Who wouldn’t want to see how they turned out? Check out my review to see how it went.

Just Read

Okay, so I haven’t actually managed to finish anything so far this week. It’s been a bit of a rough one and I’ve avoided reading. I’ve got a long weekend coming up, so I’m hoping I can catch up next week.

Currently Reading

  • Nightmares & Daydreams by Dominic J. Anton

I have made some progress in my reread and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve just not been in the right headspace for this right now.

Book Haul

I can’t remember the last time I made it a few weeks without buying anything. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep this up and not buy myself Christmas presents. I doubt it but it’s possible.

Recently Watched

  • TV:
    • American Dad – Another series that I mostly watch because of nostalgia. It’s a bit of fun to have on in the background and doesn’t require a lot of concentration.

  1. I’ve been waiting for my work to slow down and I was sure with the latest federal reserve interest rate hikes that it would, but nope, we’re still almost 2 months behind and the work keeps pouring in. So I feel your pain…
