What have you been reading this week?
We’re a little late with today’s rundown because I had a rare night out on Saturday. I was a dirty stop-out and didn’t get home until the wee hours. Still, I’m here now and we’re ready to take a look back on the week. I have managed to read something but it’s not been a great one. I really just need to get myself back into reading. I’m too distracted at the moment.
Weekly Blog Posts
- BOOK REVIEW – Cinder by Marissa Meyer
This is one of those books that I’ve heard so much about. Years ago, it was all anyone on YouTube would talk about. It never really interested me and I put it on my never read list. Until I was looking for a book to listen to at work. This appeared in the library catalogue and I figured I’d give it a go. Check out my review to find out if it was worth the wait.
- FILM REVIEW – Marry Me (2022)
From the trailers, it seemed as though this was a film based around the idea that marrying Owen Wilson would be beneath J Lo. Surely not. Owen Wilson is a handsome man and an age-appropriate one at that. I couldn’t imagine this one being any good if I had to suspend my disbelief that much. Check out my review to see if I was right to worry.
- BOOK REVIEW – Nutshell by Ian McEwan
This book has been on TBR for ages. I’d tried to read it once before but didn’t get too far. So, when I found the audiobook, I decided it was worth another try. It was such an interesting idea and the book was narrated by Rory Kinnear, who I love. To find out if this helped, read my review.

- Nutsell by Ian McEwan
I borrowed this from the library last week and listened to it at work. I love Rory Kinnear and think he was great as the unborn baby narrating the story. The book itself wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. The premise was there but the execution was a bit hit and miss for me.
- Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss
Another library book I listened to at work. I have read some of Sarah Moss’ other books and was interested to read this one too. It was as good as I had expected and I’m so glad I borrowed it.

- The Crooked Little Pieces by Sophia Lambton
Okay, strictly speaking I’ve not done much reading this week but I’m determined to fininsh this one.
Book Haul
I did buy a physical copy of Ghost Wall because I loved it so much. It only seemed fair and it’s always good to have a copy for rereading or lending to people.

- RuPaul’s Drag Race – I’m on season 12 and am loving how great Gigi Goode is. Don’t get me wrong, Jaida was a worthy winner but Gigi is do unique. A part of my will always wish that she got the crown. At least get her on All Stars at some point.
