I’ve eaten so much this weekend. It’s not even funny. Yesterday, I went to a local food market with a friend. We ate bratwurst and churros. Then I bought the biggest slice of custard tart for that evening. And I still have a massive slice of cheesecake to eat. Then, today I made brownies for a friend but, because the first batch went wrong, I had to make them again. And, after I’d made the first batch, I used the leftover peanut butter chips to make pancakes. I’m fucking stuffed and I still have my evening meal to eat. I think I’ll have to go for a walk to make room. I was meant to be using today to read. I’m just going to be in a food coma all evening.

- BOOKISH POST – July Reading Wrap-Up
July has come and gone. It’s August and I’m told this will be the busiest time at work. So, I’m already looking forward to the end of the month. It helps that I’ve got a day off for a Doctor’s appointment but I’ll also look forward to a bit of peace. But, this isn’t a time to look ahead. This is a time to look back. Specifically, at the books I read last month. How much did I read? To find out you should probably just read my post.
- TUESDAY REVIEW – Once Upon A Time In… Hollywood (2019)
Yes, Endgame was a huge cinematic release this year but, in terms of non-comic book films, this had to be one of the most anticipated films of 2019. There’s been a lot of mystery surrounding Quentin Tarantino’s 9th film. Something that I wanted to continue. This made writing this review bloody difficult. Did I end up giving too much away? To find out you should probably just read my review.
- BOOK REVIEW – Heartstream by Tom Pollock
My relationship with YA fiction hasn’t always been great. I tend to go into YA novels with slight trepidation. But I didn’t know this was YA until I was already reading. I just thought I was reading a really badly written adult book. When I found out it was for Young Adult readers I kind of felt better about it. But was it enough to make it seem good? You might find out by checking out my review.
- THROWBACK THURSDAY – Kill Bill: Vol 1 and 2
Ever since the Kill Bill films came on Netflix I’ve wanted to rewatch them. It just never seemed like the right time. But, what better time than in the same week you review Tarantino’s latest film? So, I set about getting all the way through the saga that saw Uma Thurman take her place as one of the baddest women in film history. If you’re also feeling a bit nostalgic then head over to my review.
- Supper Club by Lara Williams
So, officially, I’ve not started reading this yet but I will tonight. This is one of those super hyped books that I’m eager to read. I want to see if it lives up to its reputation.
- The Sky Is Yours by Chandler Klang Smith
I’ve set this aside for the time being. It feels like it’s going to be a very dense read so I think I’ll leave it for a better time. A time when I’m in the right mood.
I’ve been quite good this week I think. Well, in terms of books anyway.
- So much TV:
- OITNB – This is all I’ve been watching this week. I’m already well into season 3 and I’m loving it. I love old school Red and watching her friendship with Gloria grow. It’s such a good show.
- No shit films
Who is Murdocal? A casual critic who is a little bit too obsessed with pop culture. A young woman who swears and rants much more than she knows she should whilst trying to make her way in an adult world she isn't prepared for. A not as recent as she'd like literature graduate who, between job applications and subsequent rejections, has turned to the internet to fight the boredom and review the shit out of everything.
"Maybe, just maybe, I'm the faller. Every family has someone who falls, who doesn't make the grade, who stumbles, who life trips up. Maybe I'm our faller."
