So last week was super stressful at work and this weekend was horrendous. It was so terribly organised and I ended up coming home exhausted. Which is the main reason I dropped the ball in terms of my Sunday Rundown. Why did I also forget to post yesterday? Who knows but I did. I’m here now. Even though it won’t be very interesting. I didn’t really have time for book buying last week so I finally achieved a non-book-haul week. Still, better late than never, this is my rundown for last week.

- TUESDAY’S REVIEWS – Pitch Perfect 3 (2017)
When I first watched Pitch Perfect I had no idea that I would love it so much. I hated Glee so had every idea that I’d really hate this too. Instead, I loved it. Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson are kind of impossible to dislike so that helped. I’d not had quite so many warm and fuzzy feelings about the sequel, though, so I was too afraid to watch the final film. Until I was in desperate need to review something. Would it be as bad as I feared? Find out here.
- BOOK REVIEW – Frankenstein in Baghdad by Ahmed Saadawi
Can you believe it? I’m actually posting a book review! It’s amazing and the first one I’ve done since April. This reading slump has been a fucking pain in the arse but I’m almost completely out of it by now. Who knows if I’ll be read for a review next week but we’ll see soon. Until then take joy in this one by clicking here.
- THROWBACK THIRTY – Willow (1988)
Ron Howard is everywhere right now. Last week I watched Solo and this week I binged on the latest series of Arrested Development. So I felt that it was perfect to watch his 1988 film Willow for my TBT this week. It’s a film that I haven’t seen in ages so I was interested to see how it would feel now. Check out my review here.
- Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero
I’m really enjoying this now the narrative is really kicking in. I admit, some of the references to Scooby Doo and stuff are irritating me a little but this is a fun novel. Not the greatest thing I’ll ever read but enjoyable. And, after my slump, that’s exactly what I need.
I’ve checked and I’m pretty certain that I didn’t buy a single book this week. I’m amazed but it’s definitely a good thing. The amount of unread books I have is insane so I need to curb my habit. Even though there are plenty of books that I almost bought. So many.
- Netflix Binges – Arrested Development, Project Runway Jr., Project Runway
Finished watching the first 8 episodes of the 5th season of Arrested Development this week. I have to say, this splitting seasons is getting super annoying for my binge watching habits but I guess it’s also good that I have to stop sometime. I quite enjoyed the series. The two Netflix seasons haven’t been as good as the original 3 but I do like them. It’s still the same insanity that we know and love. I can’t wait for the rest of the series. Then I watched all of Project Runway Jr. and I’m so obsessed that I decided to rewatch the two series of Project Runway on Netflix. I wish I could sew but, after my attempts in school, I know it would be a disaster.
Who is Murdocal? A casual critic who is a little bit too obsessed with pop culture. A young woman who swears and rants much more than she knows she should whilst trying to make her way in an adult world she isn't prepared for. A not as recent as she'd like literature graduate who, between job applications and subsequent rejections, has turned to the internet to fight the boredom and review the shit out of everything.
