SUNDAY RUNDOWN – THAT’S WHAT SHE READ
So I’m writing this from my sick bed as I’ve suddenly be taken ill. I feel rotten and have spent all afternoon doing nothing at all. Except trying to sleep and watching Netflix. I’m rubbish at being sick and just feel super sorry for myself. It’s given me time to do stuff that I would have put off though. I’ve watched things that I wouldn’t have got round to if I was well because I’d have felt too guilty. It does also mean my actual ‘to do’ list has been ignored and I’ve got plenty to do when I’m well again. Ah well… I’ve got more important things to worry about. This week I’ve been a bit bad when it comes to my book buying ban and have bought too new releases that I’ve been desperate to read. So, as bad as I’ve been I really don’t mind. These are too key reads for 2017. I just need to be quicker.
I’m not going to lie. This felt like a bit of a slog but I’m finally done. My Tuesday Review this week will be a proper review so check back with me later.
I read Laline Paull’s The Bees a few years ago and adored it. It wasn’t until I was purusing Amazon the other day that I realised that this new book was even out but I had to buy it. I don’t even know much about it. I’m just that excited by Paull’s writing. It’s the story that investigates the death of man whose body is found when the Arctic sea ice melts. Looking forward to this.
- The 7th Function of Language by Laurent Binet
This is a book from my Most Anticipated Books of 2017 and a great contender for my new read. It’s a story about a literary murder and a grammatical conspiracy. Like the DaVinci code meets the Dictionary or something. I still haven’t read Binet’s previous novel HHhH but I feel like it’s okay to read this one first, right? I can’t wait to read this one.
- Netflix binges: Master of None, Mad Men
As I’ve been in bed most of the day I’ve done a lot of binge watching today. I got through all of Master of None and loved it. The first series was one of my favourites so I’ve been waiting for this for ages. It’s so adorable and funny. I can’t wait for next season… even though it’ll be ages away. Then I finally got to the end of Part 1 of the final season of Mad Men. I don’t know when Part 2 is coming but I’m desperate to finally finish this. It’s taken me years to get to this stage. I need closure. I need Peggy and Stand to get together. I need it!

A young woman who swears and rants much more than she knows she should whilst trying to make her way in an adult world she isn't prepared for. A not as recent as she'd like literature graduate who, between job applications and subsequent rejections, has turned to the internet to fight the boredom and review the shit out of everything.
